Core Indicators
| Indicator | Numerator | Denominator | Use |
|---|
| ART retention | Clients active on ART at review point | Clients expected to remain on ART | Measures treatment continuity. |
| Viral suppression | Clients with suppressed viral load | Clients with valid viral load results | Tracks treatment effectiveness among tested clients. |
| TB treatment success | Clients cured or completing treatment | TB cases with recorded outcomes | Measures TB program outcome performance. |
| TB contact investigation coverage | Contacts screened | Contacts listed | Tracks household and close-contact follow-up. |
Interpretation Notes
Cascade indicators should be read together. Viral suppression may look high if many clients are missing viral load results, so always review testing coverage alongside suppression.
Data Quality Checks
Check cohort definitions: Retention and TB outcomes depend on the correct cohort and review date.
Review missing outcomes: Unknown outcomes can bias program performance.
Link registers carefully: HIV, TB, laboratory, and pharmacy data may use different identifiers.
