Core Indicators

IndicatorNumeratorDenominatorUse
ART retentionClients active on ART at review pointClients expected to remain on ARTMeasures treatment continuity.
Viral suppressionClients with suppressed viral loadClients with valid viral load resultsTracks treatment effectiveness among tested clients.
TB treatment successClients cured or completing treatmentTB cases with recorded outcomesMeasures TB program outcome performance.
TB contact investigation coverageContacts screenedContacts listedTracks household and close-contact follow-up.

Interpretation Notes

Cascade indicators should be read together. Viral suppression may look high if many clients are missing viral load results, so always review testing coverage alongside suppression.

Data Quality Checks

Check cohort definitions: Retention and TB outcomes depend on the correct cohort and review date.

Review missing outcomes: Unknown outcomes can bias program performance.

Link registers carefully: HIV, TB, laboratory, and pharmacy data may use different identifiers.
